Exchange Connection Tutorial

Learn how to securely connect your crypto exchanges to HyperAnalysis for unified portfolio tracking and analytics.

Security Warning

Only use read-only API keys and never share your trading passwords or withdrawal permissions. HyperAnalysis encrypts and stores your API credentials securely, but you should always verify you're using the official app.

Method 1: API Key Connection

What are API Keys?

API keys are secure credentials that allow HyperAnalysis to access your exchange data without requiring your login credentials. We only use read-only permissions.

How to Generate API Keys:

Binance:
  1. Log into Binance and go to API Management
  2. Click "Create API" and name it "HyperAnalysis"
  3. Enable only "Read Info" permissions
  4. Copy the API Key and Secret Key
  5. Add your IP address for extra security
Coinbase Pro:
  1. Go to Coinbase Pro API settings
  2. Click "New API Key"
  3. Select only "View" permissions
  4. Enter your 2FA code
  5. Copy the API Key, Secret, and Passphrase
OKX:
  1. Navigate to OKX API settings
  2. Create new API key with "Read" permission only
  3. Set IP restrictions for security
  4. Copy API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase

Connection Steps:

  1. Open HyperAnalysis and tap "Connect Exchange"
  2. Select your exchange from the list
  3. Choose "API Key Connection" method
  4. Enter your API credentials in the secure form
  5. Test the connection and save

Method 2: OAuth Authentication

What is OAuth?

OAuth is a secure authentication method that allows you to connect your exchange without sharing API keys. You authorize HyperAnalysis directly through your exchange's login system.

Supported Exchanges:

Currently Supported:
  • Coinbase (OAuth 2.0)
  • Kraken (OAuth 2.0)
  • Gemini (OAuth 2.0)
  • More exchanges being added regularly

Connection Steps:

  1. Open HyperAnalysis and tap "Connect Exchange"
  2. Select your exchange from the OAuth-supported list
  3. Choose "OAuth Connection" method
  4. You'll be redirected to your exchange's login page
  5. Log in and authorize HyperAnalysis read-only access
  6. You'll be redirected back to complete the connection

Security Best Practices

  • Read-Only Permissions: Only grant read/view permissions to API keys. Never enable trading or withdrawal permissions.
  • IP Restrictions: Add IP restrictions to your API keys when possible for extra security.
  • Regular Monitoring: Regularly check your exchange's API activity logs.
  • Secure Storage: Keep a backup of your API credentials in a secure location.
